Brian Wilhelm, of Colorado, who lost his lower leg in a rocket-propelled grenade attack near Balad, Iraq, will receive funds to support his training the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. Retired Spec. Kyle Burleson, of Louisiana, who was paralyzed from the neck down when his Humvee was hit by enemy fire in Iraq, will receive funds to assist in costs associated with building a new house that is capable of handling the electrical infrastructure necessary to keep his life-support systems working reliably. Burleson’s new home will also contain a special bed that electronically helps turn him over and adjust his body. Retired Sgt.
